These days stress levels are much higher, job satisfaction is at an all time low and the balance between work and play has been lost.

These are the findings of an annual survey conducted by the Australian Psychological Society on stress and wellbeing.

About two in five Australians point to workplace issues as the main source of their stress.  The survey also outlines the fact that stress is something that can have a detrimental effect on the mental and physical health of a person.

Lynee Littlefield is the Executive Director of The Australian Psychological Society and says that it is important to identify the cause of stress and then work towards managing it.

Findings show that work-life balance and job satisfaction reported in 2012 and 2011 were reportedly lower than previous years.  Australians who work also reported that they were much less interested in their job and were more likely to lose their job in 2012 than in 2011.
